Your privacy matters to us. We don’t ask you for personal information unless it will directly benefit you, we try to make sure you are always in control of your own data, and we don’t share your personal information with anyone except to comply with the law, develop our products, protect our rights, or in the specific cases outlined below.
If you have questions about accessing or correcting your personal data please contact us.
Individual User Privacy
Before hosting or attending office hours, Ohours asks users to fill out a profile describing themselves and the topics they'd like to discuss through their office hours. Most of this profile information (including your name, your Ohours user name, your personal description, your topics, a link to your LinkedIn profile, a link to your Twitter profile, and a link to your personal website) is made public and can be viewed on your personal profile page.
Your contact information (including your email address, Skype user name, and phone number) is kept private and only communicated to another user if you you confirm an office hours appointment with that user.
Each user may sign up to host or attend office hours. Users may choose to host office hours in person or virtually. In person office hours will likely contain information sufficient for users to locate you personally at a certain time (ex: I host office hours at 10am evert Thursday at the Starbucks at Murray and Broadway in New York City).
When you host office hours, you may choose whether or not the session is listed publicly on the website. If you choose not to have your session listed publicly, it will only be accessible by a link directly to your office hours session (though anyone who has access to this link will be able to see information about your office hours session).
When you attend another user's office hours, you may choose whether or not your name and profile will be listed publicly as attending that user's office hours session. You may also be asked to enter information used to inform the office hours host of what you'd like to talk about. This information is not displayed publicly and is shown only to the host.
Group User Privacy
Ohours offers a white-labelled service for groups, companies, conferences, and communities to host and showcase office hours for their group members.
Group administrators may be able to access some additional information associated with your personal profile or connections you've made during your office hours. This information includes all of your publicly accessible profile information as well as your email address (which they had to know to add you as a member of the group initially). Additionally, when you host or attend office hours within the context of your group (which you can choose when you create your office hours session), your group administrator may view who you connected with as long as you are both group members.
You will be alerted if you are added to a group, and you can always view your group affiliations in the right-hand side of your personal dashboard.
Gathering of Information About All Website Visitors
Like most website operators, Ohours collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Ohours’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Ohours’s visitors use its website. From time to time, Ohours may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.
Ohours also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users. Ohours only discloses logged in user IP addresses when required to do so by law, or when Ohours believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of Ohours, third parties or the public at large.
Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information
Certain visitors to Ohours’s websites choose to interact with Ohours in ways that require Ohours to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that Ohours gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who sign up to provide an email address. Those who wish to engage further with the Ohours service or website are asked to provide additional information, including as necessary personal, professional, and financial information. In each case, Ohours collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with Ohours. Ohours does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.
Gathering Aggregated Statistics
Ohours may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites. Ohours may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, Ohours does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.
General Protection of Personally-Identifying Information

Some of those employees, contractors and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using Ohours’s websites, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. Ohours will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information other than to connect job seekers and companies who have indicated they wish to contact one another. Other than to its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations, as described above, Ohours discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only when required to do so by law, or when Ohours believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of Ohours, third parties or the public at large. If you are a registered user of an Ohours website and have supplied your email address, Ohours may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with Ohours and our products. If you send us a request (for example via email or via one of our feedback mechanisms), we reserve the right to publish it in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users. Ohours takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.
If Ohours, or substantially all of its assets were acquired, or in the unlikely event that Ohours goes out of business or enters bankruptcy, user information would be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any acquirer of Ohours may continue to use your personal information as set forth in this policy.
